Governance

Governing body members come from all walks of life and include community members, parents, teachers and staff.

Middlewich High School is a member of the Sir John Brunner Foundation, a Multi Academy Trust comprising a group of academies each with its own unique character, serving the distinct needs of its communities and drawn together by a profound belief in, and commitment to, the value of excellent education.  Middlewich High School transferred to the Foundation in December 2021.

The purpose of governance is to provide:

  • Strategic leadership
  • Accountability and assurance and
  • Strategic engagement

The Governing Body plays an important role in supporting the strategic direction of the school, supporting and holding the Headteacher and Senior Leadership to account for standards, developing the school budget, representing the School and being instrumental in forming constructive relationships with stakeholders including staff, students, parents and the wider community.

Meet the Governors

Becoming a Governor

Being a governor at Middlewich High School is an interesting and rewarding role.  Governing body members come from all walks of life and include community members, parents, teachers and business support staff.

Our governors not only share their advice and support but also get involved in all aspects of School life.

The Governing Body is committed to diversity and inclusion at all levels.

For more information, or to express your interest in becoming a governor, please contact Anne Young, Clerk to the Governing Body, via email, at clerk@mhs.school

If you would like to raise an issue

The Governors welcome and encourage contact with parents on all matters relating to the School but ask that matters of concern be raised, in the first instance, with the Headteacher.
