MP Andrew Cooper marks the official opening

Middlewich High School has unveiled it’s new £160,000 3G pitch.

The pitch, which now meets FA standards, was officially opened by MP Andrew Cooper, during a ceremony with students, staff governors and representatives from the Sir John Brunner Foundation.

It will be used by both the school and general public, as part of the school’s community leisure facilities.

Headteacher, Mrs Naylor said: “This new pitch is a fantastic addition to our school and community

“We are truly grateful to The Sir John Brunner Foundation and Cheshire East Council for making this vision a reality.”

Matt Snelson, CEO of The Sir John Brunner Foundation,  added: “The resurfaced 3G pitch is part of a £2m renovation at Middlewich High School.

“In addition to the completed roofing project, we’re upgrading the heating system, IT infrastructure, and fire safety, including new doors for improved safety and aesthetics.

“These upgrades follow exceptional 2024 results, particularly in English, maths, science, and art, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities.”
