Alan Dixon
Co-opted Governor
My relationship with Middlewich High School started some three years ago supporting their Science and Robotics Club, which took place one day per week after school.
When a vacancy to join the Full Governing Body as a co-opted Governor arose in October 2020 I applied and was appointed to the body as the STEM and Careers Link.
The whole of my career has been in Mechanical and Marine Engineering disciplines spending time in both the Merchant Navy and at Rolls Royce Military Engine Division holding Senior Engineering positions .
I am currently an Education Officer and STEM Ambassador for the Institution of Engineering and Technology covering Merseyside and Western Cheshire, and also a Committee member of the Institutions Local Network .
I am a Registered Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council , Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and a Chartered Marine Engineer with The Institution of Marine Engineering.
I have completed the Governor Induction Training Programme provided by Cheshire East which provided much clarity surrounding the many areas of Governance.
I will work with the School to enhance the knowledge and competence that students need to be successful in their chosen Careers.
