Co-opted Governor

I am a co‑opted Governor at Middlewich High School, as well as a parent at the school. I have worked in education for over 20 years, during which time I have built a strong and comprehensive understanding of the primary sector. My experience includes a wide range of leadership roles that have enabled me to develop a deep knowledge of school improvement, strategic planning and effective governance. I have also served as a governor at two local primary school, roles that I greatly enjoyed and that further strengthened my understanding of how well‑led governance can positively influence outcomes for children.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with Middlewich High School, supporting the development of strong and purposeful links between primary and secondary education in the local area. I believe passionately in the importance of smooth transition and effective collaboration across phases and I have been proud to contribute to projects and partnerships designed to support continuity for children and families in Middlewich.

As a primary school leader, I bring a wide-ranging skill set that includes curriculum development, teaching and learning, safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion, staff development and the use of data to support improvement. These experiences have given me a valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities that schools face, as well as a strong belief in the power of high‑quality education to positively impact children’s futures.

I am keen to use my experience and skills to support Middlewich High School as it continues its journey of development and improvement. My aim as a governor is to contribute to a culture of high aspiration, support and challenge leaders effectively and ensure that the school remains focused on providing excellent opportunities for all of its young people.

I am committed to representing the interests of families in our community and working collaboratively with other governors and school leaders to ensure that every child in Middlewich receives the very best possible education. Supporting the school to grow stronger, more ambitious and increasingly successful for the benefit of our local children is something I care deeply about and I am proud to serve in this role.
