Course content
This option covers area of computing that are not covered by the CIDA and includes both a written exam and a lot of written theory that is not delivered on the computers.
This is a course for able ICT students in Year 11 only and there is a high expectation. You will be shown how to create applications (programs) that can run on mobile devices and operate in a web enabled environment. You will gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts around creating software applications and cover such topics as Algorithms, computer structure, hardware, variables, SQL and HTML coding, and using program languages such as Python. You will have two practical programming tasks to complete over the two years.

Assessment information
60% Controlled Assessment working on two 25 hour programming projects e.g. Landscape gardening theme, mobile phone operation theme.
40% Terminal written exam paper (90 minutes in length)
